At long last, I finally got on the list for some widow's shindig in D.C. in a couple of weeks. I would never have believed that these soirees are so exclusive. What I am most excited about is that there is actually going to be one other woman there who is my age.

Do you need a ball gown for this thing? It sounds fancy. I hope they are warm and welcoming and comforting for you.
