Shenandoah, VA

Today, I did an 8-mile hike in the pouring rain. It actually wasn't too bad and the scenery was just breathtaking. The fall foliage was in full bloom and there were shades of purple, red, orange, yellow, and green all around me. At one point, it looked like there was multi-colored confetti on the ground, but it was just lots of different colored leaves. When I started the hike, crossing over the little streams wasn't so bad and I was able to navigate the rocks. But coming back, it was just like "Into the Wild" and the streams became more raging and the rocks I had once successfully navigated were covered with water. But, I made it back safe and sound. Although, my brand new phone got hosed by the pouring rain.

The trail I took was the Corbin Cabin Trail.

Shenendoah is very beautiful. Prince William Forest is another good place for a hike.
